Our Expertise
An ADR neutral since 2009, principal Tuneen Chisolm is a former litigator with over twenty years of experience focused on intellectual property, entertainment, and unfair competition litigation and related counseling. She has represented talent and various corporate entities in a variety of matters relating to the music, film, television, literary arts, fashion, visual arts, and e-commerce industries. Tuneen also has substantial experience representing corporate clients in commercial litigation. A former corporate engineer, with a deep background in life sciences, bioengineering, and chemical engineering, Tuneen speaks the language of various technical experts, which enhances her efficacy as an ADR neutral. A law professor since 2013, she teaches remedies, intellectual property, trademark and unfair competition law, property, and professional responsibility, all of which keep her attuned to nuances in the law. This is the bundled expertise that will serve clients seeking an effective and creative mediator, arbitrator, special master, or discovery referee.
Experience Matters
Tuneen has handled numerous high-stakes matters and has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the United States, as well as before various arbitration forums. She has negotiated multi-million dollar settlements and resolved cases through efficient mediation.
Following law school, Tuneen was a judicial clerk for the Hon. Consuelo B. Marshall of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
Practice Areas
Tuneen’s ADR practice encompasses copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, licensing, idea submission, contract, defamation, and right of publicity matters, as well as domain name disputes, advertising, unfair business practices, employment, fraud, product liablity, and other tort issues. Prior to starting her own practice, Tuneen was counsel at the national law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, and then senior counsel in the entertainment department of a Los Angeles based firm.
STEM Background
Prior to beginning her legal career, Tuneen worked for Fortune 100 companies as a research and development engineer in the biotechnology and specialty chemicals industries. As a former engineer with substantial experience, Tuneen has a strong technical background which gives her a valued perspective regarding product liability, toxic tort, and patent infringement matters.
Giving Back
Throughout the course of her legal career, Tuneen has consistently dedicated time to pro bono work, including: facilitating adoptions for foster parents and relative caregivers; assisting domestic violence victims with obtaining restraining orders; acting as guardian ad litem for minor plaintiffs; mediating cases as part of the Los Angeles County Superior Court pro bono mediator panel; arbitrating fee disputes for the Georgia State Bar; mediating misdemeanor cases for the North Carolina, Wake County Criminal District Court; and mediating employment disputes for the North Carolina Office of Human Resources; and handling various matters as a pro bono attorney for Georgia Lawyers for the Arts.
